Spine Rehab

Dr. Phillip Nutter has over 40 years of experience in chiropractic medicine and has been serving the area of Pittsburg, PA since 1985.  We Care Chiropractic Center was founded on the idea that everyone deserves to live a pain-free life.  With the help of Dr. Nutter’s team, every patient who walks through their door receives quality spine rehab they can rely on.

Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic adjustments treat many forms of pain that stem from the spine being out of alignment.  When the spine is compromised, nerves send pain signals to the brain that will continue until the spine is back in alignment.  Dr. Nutter uses a physical exam as well as X-rays to identify the areas needing adjustment and to create a personalized treatment plan.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is used to alleviate pain caused by specific muscle points in the body that have formed a ball of tension.  These trigger points can cause pain in a specific area but can also radiate to other areas when multiple trigger points have formed.  To treat these problem areas, trigger point therapy is performed by pressing directly on the balled-up muscle causing the pain.  This applied pressure reduces the blood supplying the trigger point and stimulates the body to release helpful toxins that break up the tensed muscle.  Trigger point therapy aims to release muscle tension, relieve pain, and improve circulation.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is a common method of spine rehab for patients dealing with pain, but it is also used to rebuild and strengthen their bodies to prevent future injuries.  One form of physical therapy that Dr. Nutter uses is electrical muscle stimulation using a high volt, galvanic current.  This method applies high-intensity stimulation to the muscles in a targeted area to contract and release continually to quickly strengthen the muscle and provide core stability as well as relieve pain.

Mechanical Traction and Decompression

Patients suffering from pain in the neck, lower back injury,  and disc herniation can find relief with mechanical traction and decompression therapy.  This form of treatment uses devices that are designed to stretch the spine safely, relieve pain, and provide space for herniated discs to move back into place.

With an integrative approach, Dr. Nutter provides his patients with proven methods of spine rehab to relieve pain as quickly as possible and release them from care.  For more information or to schedule your appointment, please call (412) 795-2900.
